"It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." - Barack Obama

Curious George Makes A Retraction

posted by Curious George

I recently criticized a Republican running in a primary for not choosing his words carefully when speaking to the press. Upon learning more about Mr. Woodrome, I believe that I was too harsh. At twenty years old, if I was sober enough to speak at all... I probably was saying things far more wooden-headed than this young man has ever dreamed of saying, not that I remember it.

Bill Smith over at the ARRA News Service has a very good write-up about this race. He says:
The Arkansas Republican Party has hope for its future if it puts forth more candidates like Woodrome and Malone. The RPA and local party should welcome the loser, should put them to work and should encourage them to run for other position.

Bill Smith is exactly right and I was terribly wrong. Republican's need to quit killing off their own, especially thier future. While I am relieved to know that Mr. Woodrome's opponent is also very conservative and still believe that Ms. Malone is currently the better the candidate, by the time Mr. Woodrome is 30 I am sure he will have surpassed Ms. Malone as a quality candidate.

I, therefore, wish to extend a sincere apology to Mr. Woodrome. May God bless you and protect you from raving buttheads like myself.
